Elma partners with proven, leading board manufacturers to provide embedded plug-in cards: Single Board Computers; Compute- or I/O-intensive payload cards; Ethernet and PCIe switches, high performance GPUs and FPGAs; PSU modules; as well as timing (PNT) and other special function cards.
Elma has years of experience designing custom I/O solutions. In particular, we're known for our Rear Transition Modules (RTMs) when front I/O is not an option. Our focus is to provide proven technology based on standard architectures like VPX, SOSA, and legacy architectures like CPCI, ATCA, and form factors.
We work with our customers to define, integrate and test the board set that's right for your application.
Embedded boards are computing modules designed to perform dedicated functions within larger electronic systems. They are commonly used in applications such as defense systems, industrial automation, telecommunications, transportation, and aerospace platforms where reliable and compact computing power is required.
Elma provides a broad range of embedded boards including single board computers, Ethernet switches, FPGA boards, storage modules, carrier and adapter cards, and I/O communication boards. These solutions support different computing, networking, and data processing requirements in embedded systems.
A single board computer (SBC) is a complete computer built on a single circuit board that integrates processors, memory, and input/output interfaces. SBCs are typically used as the central processing element in embedded systems and can support high-performance workloads in rugged environments.
Elma Electronic provides a range of embedded computing and electronic packaging solutions, including embedded boards, backplanes, chassis platforms, cabinets, power supplies, and electromechanical components such as rotary switches and encoders. These products support modular architectures like OpenVPX, VPX, and CompactPCI for high-performance embedded systems.
Embedded boards are typically installed into system platforms such as chassis, racks, or embedded computing systems. They connect through standardized backplanes and interfaces, enabling modular system design and easy upgrades.
